Physician Assistant Resources: Interlibrary Loan

Interlibrary Loan is a service provided to all faculty, students, and staff of Pfeiffer University. Interlibrary Loan is used to provide access to materials in libraries across the country. Any material not owned by Pfeiffer library, including books and journal articles, may be requested through Interlibrary Loan. Requests may be made online, via email, by phone, or in-person. Please check the Pfeiffer Online Catalog for our book holdings and Find A Journal for our journal holdings before placing ILL requests.

Interlibrary Loan Fees and Policies

• Requests for renewals of ILL materials should be made before the due date. Renewals are not guaranteed, as some libraries will not renew their materials. Students are limited to one renewal per item.
• Overdue ILL items can result in other libraries refusing to lend to us. This hurts your fellow students, in addition to reflecting poorly on the university. Therefore, student overdue fines for ILL materials are $1.00 per day per item. Students with overdue ILL items may not request additional items. ILL items overdue more than 2 weeks will result in suspension of all library borrowing privileges until the items are returned. Repeated overdue ILLs will result in permanent suspension of ILL privileges.
• Physical ILL items arrive within 2 weeks, usually in a week or less. Articles typically arrive within a few days. We will notify you when an item arrives; however, it is your responsibility to follow up on any items you have not received. We cannot guarantee delivery by a certain date.

We accept requests via OCLC, ALA, or if necessary by phone/email. We lend and copy for free. The only materials that absolutely don't circulate are archives (and we will photocopy those if the materials aren't too brittle!) Items such as reference books, DVDs, and sound recordings we evaluate on a case-by-case basis. Our loan period is 45 days and renewal period is 30 days. We are Soline, SO6 and LVIS. Our Charlotte campus no longer exists. If our catalog lists an item as being in Charlotte, it is actually in a box in our basement waiting to be processed and is unavailable for loan or copy.

We are closed from about Dec. 23 through Jan.1. ILL service may be limited or slower during June and July.
