  • African-American Poetry (1750-1900)  Nearly 3,000 poems by African American poets of the late 18th and 19th centuries
  • AGRICOLA: Database of the National Agricultural Library; indexes journals, book and reports
  • American Poetry:  (1600-1900)  Over 40,000 poems by more than 200 American poets from the Colonial Period to the early twentieth century
  • American Slavery:  Life histories of slaves compiled from over 4000 interviews with former slaves. Now part of Greenwood Digital Collection.
  • American Society of Microbiology journals: Search ASM journals. Abstracts available from 1992-1997; full text 1998-present. Most recent 6 months not available.
  • America's Newspapers: Full text of over 20 North Carolina newspapers including Charlotte and Raleigh, along with several well-known national newspapers
  • Annals of American History: Primary source material in full text
  • BioMed Central: Full-text of peer-reviewed journals in the medical and biological sciences
  • BioOne: Full-text of over 80 scholarly/peer-reviewed journals in biology/life sciences
  • Books in Print with Reviews: An index of all books currently in print, with reviews of many of them
  • Britannica Online: The online Encyclopaedia Britannica
  • Business Source Premier: Index to business journals, 8800 of them in full text
  • CAMIO: Database of art images
  • CINAHL: Cumulative Index to Nursing and Allied Health Literature, includes legal cases, drug records, clinical trials. Full text
  • Classical Music Library: Streaming audio of thousands of classical recordings, with some reference data as well
  • Classical Scores Library: Database of thousands of music scores (printable)
  • CQ Researcher: Full-text reports containing in-depth, non-biased coverage of political and social issues
  • CQ Weekly: Complete source for expert coverage of the U.S. Congress: status of bills, votes and amendments, floor and committee activity, and back room maneuvering

  • Reference USA: Online directory of business and residential listings, includes company data and tech and health care listings
  • Regional Business News: Full text of many regional business publications
  • Sanborn Maps - North Carolina: Historical maps of 158 North Carolina towns
  • Scirus: Searches several databases of science journals. Citations and abstracts only.
  • Serials Directory:  Information and pricing for over 155,000 U.S. and international periodicals
  • Spanish Reference Center: Spanish encyclopedias from Britannica
  • Wall Street Journal: Index to the WSJ since 1981, some full text
  • WorldCat: A database of books in libraries everywhere, including who owns them
